The Kloppers timeline of hard work and success.

When the opportunity to gain plus minus 2400 sq. extra trading area came about, there was no hesitation to take it. After eight years, in the current premises it became time to renovate, and that is just what we are doing.

No drastic department expansion, but just creating space for better product display. A fresh look for most departments including Furniture, Appliances, TV’s, Sound, Photography, MTN, Gift + kitchen, Outdoor, Camping, Sport, Stationary and luggage.

1967

In 1967 the first Kloppers store opened it’s doors and the public were welcomed into the new store with a smile and good service. The Kloppers name became well known for excellent service and good quality products.

In 1981 Kloppers expanded again, when Mr. W Klopper sen. bought the local Greatermans branch and moved Kloppers to the premises.

1984

Then in 1983 the original Kloppers was sold. In 1984 the Klopper brothers opened Juniors and the business grew so fast that in 1986 they took over the "new" Kloppers.

1991

And in 1991 Juniors grew again, and the old OK building was acquired and Juniors became Kloppers again.

In 1995 Kloppers took yet another step upward when they took over BP Jones. In 2002 Kloppers moved to the Bloemfontein Waterfront.

And now in 2010 yet another step forward, the store expanded with an new technical dept. The new dept. connects to the existing Kloppers and the Kloppers furniture department.

About Kloppers

Willem Klopper snr. (now deceased) started Kloppers in 1967. Differing from other retailers who sold goods at high profit margins, often on credit, Kloppers was special from the start by concentrating on high turnover and low profit margins with the focus on cash sales and personal service.The prediction of prophets of doom that this approach would not succeed was proven wrong quickly. The Kloppers motto was: "Cash is king". Willem firmly believe
